Date

Tuesday, February 9, 2010
Time

6:00pm - 9:00pm

This class is a requirement to use the shop. We ask even experienced printers to take this class to familiarize yourselves with our particular space and materials. If you are an experienced printer you can test out of taking the Continuing classes at the end of this class. Please notify us if this is what you intend.

Due to the size of the shop we can only take a limited number of students. Please make sure that you sign up for the class first prior to paying to make sure there is still space available. We cannot add just one more to the class nor do we have a waiting list. Please just sign up for the next available class that works with your schedule.

This class is designed to give students an introduction to silkscreening basics. Class will include an introduction to the equipment, different types of inks, screens and applications. Teacher will demo preparing a screen for transfer, transfer of image, printing and reclaiming of screens.

Each student will have a chance to use the presses and print images. This class will not facilitate the printing of students own imagery - we will be practicing with RPS images, producing RPS fundraising merchandise.

Students are encouraged to wear clothes that can get messy. And during cooler days be sure to wear warm layers.

Because we have a limited amount of spots available for this class you must give us 48 hours notice if you won't be coming for us to transfer or refund your $$.

This class does not take place at Rock Paper Scissors. Meet at the gate to Patchwerk Press Silkscreen Shop located 2311 Adeline St. at the NW corner of West Grand, a few buildings in from the intersection. It is a secure building and has two fenced gates on either side for entrance and exit. The instructor will meet the class out front of the gate to the right of the building---please don't be late!
